Why are job interviews psychological warfare

Like genuinely what is the intention behind asking someone what their biggest weakness is. No one is actually gonna be honest in that situation so it’s like a weird game to see if they can give a clever answer

The thing that gets me is that nowadays nothing in the job interview process is in any way genuine. My teory is that they blatantly weed out neurodivergent people.

Everyone posts interview questions AND sample answers online. A recruiter training me to an interview on my current position blatantly told me - just make up a conflict situation which you resolved using relevant skills. Just make it up. Better to lie than to say “I’m actually a normal person and I have no conflicts at work, I am able to say ok when someone points out I was wrong and not escalate things’. Saying this is worse than lying.

Tumblr as well is full of advice what to say on interview. There are services that make resumes look exactly the same and fill them with identical buzzwords.

No part of the process in personal or genuine. You go in knowing the questions and those who will ask them know what you’re going to answer. It’s purely to see how nervous you get in a stressful situation + how many of your rights you know vs how much you are willing to be exploited.

Hint: people who can be most calm during interview are those who are very neurotypical and privileged, including people whose livelihood does not depend on particular interview, who have some safety net to fall back on.

The fact that there is such a thing is being overqualified is insane. The fact that you have to beg and grovel and masturbate the employer saying how good the company is insane. The fact that you can be not skilled and better, more confident at speaking to strangers and get a position that a skilled but shy/nervous person didn’t get is actually discrimination but no-one talks about it.

El Shaddai coming to PC, where you’ll want to see it ⊟

I was a big El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron booster before and during its original release on PS3 and Xbox 360. It combined simple but nice-feeling brawling with platforming, oddly idiosyncratic characters, and constantly changing abstract visuals that, to my mind, still haven’t been matched. Also it’s in the Bible Cinematic Universe. And it had official jeans.

Finally, ten years after its release (and the dissolution of its publisher) El Shaddai will be released on Steam “soon,” producer Sawaki Takeyasu announced. I can’t imagine how wild it’s going to look on PC, and just how spectacular the jeans fidelity will be.

I dont really like making rebloggable posts but I haven’t seen anyone mention them yet: terracotta heaters are really easy and effective DYI heaters for cold emergencies and I think it might be helpful considering, you know

TDLR, place a candle of any size down, and put a terracotta pot (as large as possible preferably) over it, with something non-flammable and balanced to keep the bottom an inch or two off the ground, like bricks.

The candle will heat the terracotta, which will put off heat, while the space underneath lets smoke out and oxygen in. I’ve used these all 3 times we had outages here in Maine during blizzards to keep my aquariums warm, the weather outside had been easily -20 F with high winds, and not only was I cozy, that shit kept the water 10 degrees above room temperature. If it can heat the aquariums, it’ll heat a small room.

They work so much better than you’d think, the heat they put off is insane. Obviously be careful because smoke and open flame, but they’re very easy to make and just need an eye kept on them on all times.

Don’t touch the heated pot bare-handed, it’ll burn like a motherfucker, they get VERY hot. Use thick oven mitts or layered rags to remove pot, put the candle out first if you can manage. Don’t do more than one or two in a non-ventilated or closed room, it’s still making smoke and that can make it harder to breathe.

[ID: Two bricks are laid flat, two bricks are stacked on top on their sides. A candle is in a jar inbetween and is lit. A large terracotta pot is balanced on the second, higher set of bricks so it is above the candle and off the ground. End Id]

for some reason as a kid i thought a bitch was some kind of weapon. i always envisioned it as something akin to a battering ram

I think….I think I own something akin to a bitch? It’s a wooden log that has outfitted so you can reach inside a cavity and grab on to a handle and use it as what is essentially a heavy, brain splattering sockembopper.
